Massive; Leicester Manager recieved Letter following Leeds United’s actions

Following Leeds United’s latest victory, Paul Merson has issued a challenge to Ipswich and Leicester to step up in the Championship’s race for promotion.

The Whites defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Hillsborough on Friday night to reclaim their spot in the automatic promotion spots.

And Merson admitted he is expecting a “massive” day in the Championship as Ipswich travel to Cardiff and Leicester travel to Hull with both needing to pick up wins to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.

“Massive day in the Championship as well at both ends of the table,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (9 March).

“Ipswich and Leicester facing tough games today both needing to pick up wins as Leeds are flying.”

The Whites have been in absolutely sensational form in 2024 with 11 wins and a draw from their 12 Championship games so far, and their only defeat coming in injury time to Chelsea.

That has allowed them to really close the gap on Leicester at the top of the table and they’re now able to push for a potential title, rather than just competing for second place.

Daniel Farke has already navigated a stunning season for the Peacocks, and has taken maximum points from the two nearest challengers this season by beating both teams both home and away.

At this moment, Leeds’ only options are to keep winning games and giving it their all so that Leicester, Ipswich, and even Southampton’s mistakes may be thoroughly exploited.

It will be an extremely busy finale to the season with every result signifying more and more, so it should be exciting if things go their way on Saturday.
