James Maddison has dropped a big hint about his potential availability against Manchester City with his latest social media post.

Spurs fans are waiting with bated breath to see Maddison back out on the pitch, with the attacking midfielder having been sidelined for almost three months since suffering an ankle injury at the start of November.

The 27-year-old had an exceptional start to his Tottenham career, with three goals and six assists in just 11 Premier League appearances for the club and his return will undoubtedly add a lot more cutting edge to Ange Postecoglou’s side in attack, given the midfielder’s vision and technical quality.

Maddison hints that he is back on the pitch at Spurs

A couple of days ago, The Telegraph reported that Maddison is in contention to play a part in the FA Cup fourth-round clash against Man City next Friday.

The report suggested that the former Leicester City star is expected to start training with his teammates when the Spurs players return from their winter break on Monday and should he come through those sessions unscathed, he could play a part against Pep Guardiola’s men.

Maddison’s hint

Interestingly, Maddison has now posted a photo of his football boots accompanied by some love heart emojis on his Instagram stories, thus sending a big hint about his return.

A full house is expected at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Manchester City and the Spurs faithful would be desperately hoping to see the midfielder maestro back on the pitch after a long absence.

Spurs Web Opinion

Having Maddison back adds a completely different dimension to the Tottenham side as the 27-year-old will make our attack a lot more efficient. We have been quite wasteful in the final third over the last couple of months and the England international will go a long way towards rectifying that.
