Liverpool ‘refuse to go away’ after biding near-£100m for Wolves Players

Liverpool are reportedly plotting a double-raid on a Premier League club that could cost near £100m. They’re refusing to go away.

GiveMeSport reports that Liverpool have made contact with Wolves over Pedro Neto. The Reds’ interest is ‘refusing to go away’ and they’re hoping to strike a deal this summer.

There’s a ‘growing’ expectation that his agent, Jorge Mendes, will push for the transfer to go through. Liverpool are long-time admirers of Neto’s and believe something could happen this summer.

But they’re also in the market for another Wolves star. Arne Slot is supposedly a big fan of Rayan Ait-Nouri and are looking into a deal. They face competition for him, though – Manchester United would also like to sign Ait-Nouri in the transfer window.

And Liverpool would supposedly prioritise Neto first and foremost. Get that one done and Ait-Nouri could follow closer to the deadline.

All in, Liverpool would apparently pay around £98m for the pair of Wolves stars.

LIVERPOOL LINEUP DOUBLE WOLVES RAID

We’re not 100% sure on this one. Liverpool have other worries than left-back and even more competition at left-wing.

It was one thing when they were offered Anthony Gordon by Newcastle United – Gordon is a local, boyhood fan of the club. There’s a lot of value in having a player like that, especially with him ticking English homegrown boxes.

But Neto? He’s good but incredibly injury-prone and replacing Luis Diaz out there with him makes next to no sense.

We find it very difficult to believe that Slot would walk in and immediately look to replace Andy Robertson, too. Even if you’re down on his performances last season, the new boss would surely give a chance to someone who has been arguably the world’s best left-back over the last five or six years.

£100m is an awful lot of money for players Liverpool arguably have little use for. While we’re sure the Reds admire both, it’s difficult to believe they’d make the jump right now.
