Conor Coady felt like he was letting down Leicester City supporters by picking up an “excruciating” foot injury before his first competitive game for the club.

Summer signing Coady has been ruled out until the end of September with a broken foot suffered last month in what is the first injury of his career. Not only was it a big blow for Enzo Maresca, with Coady one of the leaders in the team and set to play an integral role at the heart of his defence, but it was a huge disappointment for City supporters, who have too often seen key players ruled out through injury.
