Leicester City have made their official offer to Inter Milan to sign Italian international midfielder Stefano Sensi.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews. Di Marzio reported live on air that the Foxes’ offer is worth around €3 million in total including add-ons.
Sensi still remains an Inter player. But it looks like it is now really only a matter of time before the 28-year-old leaves the Nerazzurri after four and a half years.
Leicester have been chasing Sensi for much of the January transfer window.
It is the East Midlands side’s coach Enzo Maresca who has particularly pushed for the signing of the former Sassuolo midfielder.
Leicester had to offload a player in order to make room in their squad for Sensi.
In something of an ironic coincidence, it was former Inter youth team midfielder Cesare Casadei who left Leicester. The 19-year-old’s loan spell from Chelsea was cut short.
And since then, it has looked to be only a matter of time before Sensi’s transfer to Leicester would be wrapped up.
Leicester City Make €3M Formal Offer To Inter For Stefano Sensi
Leicester and Inter have been in talks regarding a possible transfer of Sensi for the past three weeks or so.
But so far, there has not yet been an official offer from the Foxes.
However, Di Marzio reports, that offer has now arrive. He reports that Leicester have offered Inter a total fee of around €3 million, with the inclusion of all add-ons.
There would also be a percentage of resale.
Certain parts of the deal would be contingent on Leicester being promoted to the Premier League. At the moment, though, that looks exceedingly likely considering the Foxes’ position in the table.
Sensi joined Inter from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019.
However, injuries have been a constant theme for the Italian during his time at the Nerazzurri. These persistent problems have restricted the Italian to a total of just 56 appearances for the club.
