Leeds United transfer agreement
Leeds United centre-back Diego Llorente has made it very clear he has no intentions to be back at Elland Road in 24/25, but doesn’t have too long to secure a move before he’s expected to be back at Thorp Arch like the rest.
At present, there’s very little in the way of incoming transfers expected at Elland Road as the 49ers pick up the pieces of the first failed promotion push.
Outbound agreements are more pressing, and the story of June thus far has been the loan players and how they resolve their futures after spending 23/24 away.
Diego Llorente’s Roma loan has concluded, and he is not part of the Spain squad looking for European success again, meaning he won’t be getting extra leave this summer.
The Yorkshire Evening Post share that he is one of the players that would be due to report back for pre-season in the first group of players on July 1.
Of course, having spent the 23/24 season on loan at Roma, Llorente is claimed to have made it very clear he does not want to return to Leeds.
Therefore, from Thursday, he has 11 days to ensure he secures his transfer to avoid what could be an “awkward” encounter with Farke and some of the squad in less than two weeks’ time.
Llorente would definitely be more than fine in the Championship, but there’s no chance of him being back in the squad, even if he has to report for pre-season in 11 days.
He’s made his intentions clear and the club are no doubt happy to oblige and get him off the wage bill permanently.
His new contract that he signed in 22/23 should mean we get a fee that represents a PSR profit, which is another nice boost.
