Leeds United star arrives at international camp with black eye – journalist
Leeds United star Joe Rodon arrived at Wales’ international training camp with a swollen and black eye, according to Megan Feringa.
Writing on her personal Twitter account (19 March), The Mirror journalist reports that the central defender picked up the injury during the club’s 2-0 win over Millwall on Sunday that sent the team to the top of the Championship table.
But the 26-year-old is not expected to miss any time on the pitch and is expected to be named in Rob Page’s starting lineup for Wales’ big Euro 2024 qualifier with Finland on Thursday.
Leeds United must sign Joe Rodon permanently
Daniel Farke’s transfer business at Elland Road since his arrival has been nothing short of excellent, with Djed Spence being the only miss so far.
Ethan Ampadu has probably been the best signing for Leeds this season, but Rodon is absolutely not far behind and both Wales stars have emerged as real leaders who could easily play in the Premier League too.
The club are in a fantastic position to get straight back to the Premier League for the new season, and if they are able to do it then they should be looking to do everything they can to make Rodon a permanent member of the squad.
Rodon has been a fantastic and large part of the reason why they have been able to close down a huge 17-point gap from Leicester to overtake them after phenomenal form since the turn of the year.
His battle wounds show how committed to the cause he is and having him available for Watford despite his eye will be a huge boost for Farke and the rest of the team.
