Manchester City will play in a 2024/25 third shirt that will take inspiration from the fan-favourite maroon away kit of the 2012/13 campaign.

The upcoming edition will follow on from a string of bold designs released by the sports manufacturing giants on behalf of Manchester City, with the most recent third kit release celebrating the club’s ‘lightning-fast style of play’.

Puma have also stated with regards to the current third kit that the lightning bolt design has been inspired by the ‘buzzing atmosphere’ of Manchester itself, as well as the ‘electric energy of the team and Cityzens around the globe’.

Now, ahead of the 2024/25 season, fresh details have offered an insight into what Manchester City fans can expect from the newest third kit edition, which will treat supporters to a throwback of an all-time favourite.

According to the information of Footy Headlines, Manchester City’s 2024/25 third kit will be the same colour and direction as their 2012/13 away shirt.

It is further detailed that the latest edition of the club’s third kits will become available from August 2024.

While the 2012/13 away shirt has become a long-time favourite of Manchester City fans, the season itself failed to follow suit and instead saw the club only claim the FA Community Shield on a silverware front.

Manchester City – in what would turn out to be iconic manager Roberto Mancini’s final season with the club – finished second in the Premier League, while also crashing out of the League Cup in the third round.

A runners-up medal in the FA Cup final was also handed to the club, while a disappointing Champions League group stage campaign saw the team fail to qualify for the knock-out rounds of the competition.

City fans will be hoping that despite taking inspiration from one of the 2012/13 season’s kits and colourways, that Pep Guardiola will guide his team to even greater success next season.
