Brighton and Hove Albion will need ‘a large amount of money’ to sign River Plate youngster Agustín Ruberto as they eye the next talent from Argentina.

That’s according to El Diario, who explain that that Argentine giants are completely uninterested in a sale at this moment in time.

The newspaper details how Ruberto has earned himself growing interest in Europe after shining at the U-17 World Cup, where he was the top goal scorer, and breaking through into the River Plate first team.

A report at the end of November already threw Brighton into the mix, claiming they had asked about him as he was shining at the World Cup at that time.

They appear to be watching him closely and could make a move in the future as they continue to scoop up talent from around the world to develop.

River Plate are aware of the growing interest but are relaxed about the situation, insisting they’re yet to receive an offer or survey. Instead, they say it is just a ‘journalistic version from abroad’ and there is nothing concrete.

It’s stated that ‘tranquillity’ reigns at the club as they recently renewed the youngster to December 2027 and included a €30m release clause in that, which will increase to €35m in the last ten days of the transfer window.

Thus, if Brighton to any other interested party really turn their monitoring into a ‘real desire’, they will need to ‘spend a large amount of money’ to get him
