Bolton Wanderers boss provides injury update on key trio
The Welshman was hurt in a challenge just outside the penalty box and later called for medical attention off the ball – but head coach Steven Schumacher has played down the severity of the issue.
“He was just tired, knackered, him and John McAtee, you can tell they are shattered from the two big energy performances they have produced over the last two games.
“Everyone seems OK, there doesn’t appear to be any niggles.”
The Bolton boss also supplied an update on Will Forrester, who needed medical help for a facial injury.
“He got a sore one in the face,” he said. “He’s OK but he has got a big cut lip, which I thought again was definitely a foul, but the ref didn’t give us much there. But yeah, he’s fine, he’s a tough lad.”

Wanderers had to leave George Johnston out of the squad after he reported an injury in training – although Schumacher is hopeful that he won’t miss any great length of time.
“He pulled out of training yesterday, and said he felt like cramp-ish in the top of his hamstring,” he explained. “Again, it is probably fatigue, and that’s understandable.
“He just felt something as he was changing direction with his hammy. He couldn’t finish the training session but he said he didn’t feel too bad.
“Just like we did with Will Forrester and Eoin Toal, I’m not taking any risks with people when we don’t need to take them.”
Wanderers also confirmed that Ricardo Santos has returned to full training for the first time since Schumacher’s arrival, having been out of action since January with a chronic pelvic injury.
