LATEST NEWS: Again The Blues Want To Bring Another Star Worth £500k

How likely is the potential move?

The 28-year-old has been an asset for Bolton, regularly turning up throughout the season. He was a player in demand when he moved from Tranmere Rovers, with a host of League One clubs credited with an interest.

Ian Evatt’s side know that, despite his contract running down they are better off having him in the side, and to replace him would cost more, especially with the inflated market due to Birmingham City’s willingness to spend big. The £500k price tag may come down somewhat, however I suspect that the two clubs may fail to agree a satisfactory deal for all.

Championship newcomers Portsmouth are keen to add defender Josh Dacres-Cogley from last season’s promotion rivals Bolton Wanderers. However, the fee may be too high for John Mousinho’s men.

Tranmere Rovers Football ...

Wanderers battled with Pompey last season for promotion to the second tier, with the latter ultimately coming out on top. The former dropped out of the automatic spots and had to settle for a spot in the play-offs but were defeated by Oxford United in the final at Wembley.

Portsmouth are preparing for their return to the Championship after a long absence, and are keen to add quality this summer to ensure their survival. Dacres-Cogley joined Bolton in the summer of 2023 from Tranmere Rovers, having been linked to a whole host of clubs, and has adapted well to life in League One. He has made 55 appearances, in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

He has also previously made over 30 appearances for Birmingham City and 16 appearances for Crawley Town, with both clubs set to meet in League one next season.

Bolton have, according to Alan Nixon (paywall), set the price at £500k to secure his services, which may price Portsmouth out of a move for the talented defender.
