Kane Exclusive: Chelsea plot move for Tottenham legend after Bayern feedback
Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Harry Kane at Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Blues are hearing whispers that Kane is not entirely happy in Germany – and could be tempted into a Premier League return.
The 30-year-old is just months into his Bayern adventure and it is early days yet in Chelsea’s pursuit but they are very keen on what would be sensational swoop for the England captain.
It is believed Mauricio Pochettino’s side would be willing to match the fee paid to sign Kane from Tottenham last year (2023) – which Bayern president Uli Hoeness claimed was around £82million.
Sources say Chelsea are aware their team has energy and a youthful verve but are exasperated at their lack of attacking guile or finishing prowess at the top of the pitch.
Chelsea to lure Tottenham legend Kane back to the Premier League?
Red-hot goalscorer Kane fits the bill perfectly for Chelsea with his complete all-round game and penalty box excellence.
He has netted 28 goals in 29 games across all competitions for Bayern this term and has also contributed eight assists.
Kane has also won three Premier League Golden Boots and scored 213 Premier League goals for Tottenham – most of which came under now-Chelsea boss Pochettino.
A return to England would allow the striker to chase down Alan Shearer’s 260-goal top-flight record.
The World Cup Golden Boot winner is under contract at Bayern until June 2027.
Chelsea are marooned in mid-table with Cole Palmer (12 goals) currently their top scorer.
