Tottenham Hotspur may not have seen many signings land this summer but the fans could be set for a big update soon.

Archie Gray has been the only permanent addition brought in over the last month with Ange Postecoglou also seeing Timo Werner return on loan.

But Spurs are trying to improve their squad ahead of what is going to be a much busier 2024/25 campaign now they will be playing Europa League football.

Postecoglou will get his first real view of the players he has back for the early stages of pre-season on Wednesday in the first of their pre-season games.

And there is one player who will be playing against Hearts who is set to be handed a one-year contract extension.

Tottenham set to extend the contract of £22m forward

Spurs may not have done much business when it comes to signings, the Lilywhites have seen a number of faces depart.

Daniel Levy has been a busy man when it comes to player departures as he has cleared the decks of Postecoglou’s unwanted players.

There is still a number of players who could leave N17 this summer with the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg receiving interest from across Europe.

However, there is one player who will not be leaving this summer and is set to see his contract extended

The South Korean is currently in the final 12 months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, he is now set to see his contractual stay extended by a further 12 months until the summer of 2026.

Heung-min Son is still operating at the top of his game

This may surprise a few, but Son has recently turned 32 years of age.

It is quite staggering to consider the South Korean is now well into his thirties and yet he is still operating at the top level.

Son returned an impressive 17 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League last season; he has only scored more league goals in one of his nine seasons in England.

Having only cost Spurs £22m, he is proving himself to be one of the real bargain buys of the Premier Leaguw with a staggering return of 162 goals for Spurs now
