JUST IN: Crystal Palace Again Set To Sale One Of Their Young Talent

Hull City are in talks with Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion over deals to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Okay Yokuslu, though both at this stage are proving difficult.

That’s according to vice-chairman Tan Kesler who confirmed interest in the Palace winger and Albion midfielder, though admitted both could go deep into the window and must be right financially.

Rak-Sakyi was close to a move to City on deadline day last summer before the Selhurst Park club decided to keep the 21-year-old in South London and he remained there for the duration of the Premier League campaign, but injury hampered any hope of him becoming a regular.

The pacey wideman is keen on a move to City according to Kesler, but he says there is Premier League interest and it may be that it rolls deep towards the window.

Yokuslu, the Turkish international who has attracted interest from Besiktas, remains a firm target for City having impressed for the Baggies last term in his 44 appearances, though only if the finances are favourable.

“We are interested in Rak-Sakyi and so are like 15 other Championship clubs. We made the best offer. Palace feel very comfortable with him playing for us but I think at the moment he’s getting interest from another Premier League club.

“If he doesn’t go somewhere in the Premier League permanently, I’m confident that I would like to see him with us and we will try to do everything to bring him in. We’ve spoken with the agent, we’ve spoken with the player and we’re looking to have another conversation with the player.

“The club is just very comfortable with us, Crystal Palace. Thanks to Dougie (Freedman) and Steve (Parish), they’re very supportive of the player’s development with us so at this minute, it’s about the waiting game a little bit.”

Turkish star Yokuslu is currently on holiday after his exploits with Turkey at Euro 2024 and is using that time to assess the options he has available to him, one of which is joining up with the Tigers.

“He’s one on our target list, but we’re just talking,” he said of Yokuslu. “West Brom have some ambitions to get for him, financially. So if it fits, yes, why not, he could be one of the names (City sign), but if the financials are not right there is no need for us to go and invest and leverage ourselves.”

Owner Acun Ilicali told Hull Live ahead of the trip to Turkey that he hoped a right-back, previously linked with the club, would arrive, and while that deal has not yet been rubber-stamped, there remains an expectation it will get over the line, even if it has taken longer than planned, having seen a deal to sign Kieffer Moore collapse.

“It’s close, more or less we agreed on the club side,” Kesler said. “As for the player terms, it had been agreed a long time ago. I’m very confident that we will have the right-back position, completely closed, boxed off.

“Having said that, I want to mention this because our team captain (Lewie Coyle) is our right back as well. I think they’re going to be a great, dynamic duo together in that position because we have to think about the injuries. We have to think about the unexpected things in a season, so I think we will be very safe for years in that position.”
