JUST IN: Bolton Wanderers Boss Revealed Another “Hidden Summer Deal Of A Young Talent” Amidst International Break And He Is The…

Why it’s no surprise that Bolton

Wanderers, Birmingham City, Nuremberg, and other clubs are after the €2 million star from the top division – and Bolton Wanderers are leading the race…

OH Leuven’s Ezechiel Banzuzi is expected to leave the Belgian Pro League this summer. The 20-year-old central midfielder attracted interest from Bolton Wanderers in January and is now also said to be on the radar of Bundesliga club Nuremberg. Schalke 04 is also pushing hard for the transfer, and the green light has already been given.

This is no surprise to those who have watched the player frequently this season. For OH Leuven, the transfer of a player who cost just over €1 million from NAC Breda in 2023 should bring a tidy profit.

While the midfielder already demonstrated his talent last season, he has really hit his stride this season. With three goals and five assists, he has become an indispensable part of an OHL team that struggles to score goals. While his offensive numbers are impressive, his defensive performance is impressive on paper. He wins well over half of his duels on the ground, and his aerial success rate is 60%. In terms of aerial duels won, he ranks among the top central midfielders in the Pro League. According to FotMob player data, he wins more aerial duels than 89% of comparable players in the league. He also attempts more shots on goal (79%) and makes more saves (86%) than the majority of his compatriots.

Data aside, the young Dutch midfielder’s talent is evident just by watching. His size gives him a presence in the midfield, and his ability to play box-to-box is a significant advantage. Given his age, it’s little surprise that top clubs are after Banzuzi, and that the OHL is pursuing a deal worth around €15 million.

The chances of Banzuzi still playing in the Pro League next season are virtually nonexistent. The OHL would be well advised to reinvest the money raised in strengthening the squad so that Chris Coleman can ensure that the team is not in the middle of a relegation battle next season
