JUST IN: Birmingham City Has Given Final “Verdict” On The Loan Stay Deal Of Jay Stansfield…
Nine Birmingham City options mean Jay Stansfield won’t be embarrassed this year
The race is on to be crowned Birmingham City Player of the Year after their dominant season in League One
Jay Stansfield isn’t expected to complete a clean sweep at Birmingham City’s end-of-season awards dinner this year.
The popular striker bagged all five awards on offer at the end of last season after leading the fight to keep Blues in the Championship. Stansfield almost appeared embarrassed by the end of the awards dinner last May when it was announced that he had won the fifth and final award of the night.
While Stansfield is set to retain his top scorer award having already scored 20 goals – nine more than the club’s second leading goalscorer Alfie May – there are numerous contenders for the other prizes
Most notably player of the season where Stansfield is one of nine players who could feasibly take the top prize.
Blues are 12 points clear at the top of League One and on the brink of promotion back to the Championship, and Chris Davies’ side will contest the Vertu Trophy final against Peterborough United next month.
