It All Depends On The Decision Of The Player Not Club, Coach Revealed After An “Important” Star Set For Exit
Olympique Marseille defender Samuel Gigot is reportedly on his way to Italy to finalize his transfer to Lazio.
The 30-year-old has recently emerged as a genuine target for the Biancocelesti who are looking to enhance their backline, especially following the concerning signs witnessed during last weekend’s defeat at the hands of Udinese.
Nicolo Casale, who was one of the main culprits in the club’s maiden Serie A loss of the season, is seemingly heading towards the exit door. The 26-year-old Italian will reportedly sign for Bologna, with Gigot coming in as a direct replacement.
Gigot Set to Sign Lazio Contract
Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano reveals that Lazio have reached agreements with both Marseille and Gigot, as the player’s move to the Italian capital is now imminent. The experienced defender will only cost the Biancocelesti a transfer fee of €3.5 million, as his contract with OM will expire at the end of the season.
The transfer market guru adds that the player is now heading to the Italian capital to sign the documents. The former Spartak Moscow defender has been a stalwart at the Velodrome since joining the Ligue 1 giants in January 2022. However, Marseille’s new coach Roberto De Zerbi considered him surplus to requirements, so he was told to find himself a new club.
