In the Daily Record, Keith Jackson makes a “miraculous” Rangers and Celtics forecasting.
Keith Jackson believes that Celtic is still the favorite to win the Scottish Premiership this season over Rangers.
Following their 3-0 victory over Livingston on Saturday, the journalist wrote in the print edition of the Daily Record on Monday, February 5, page 39, that the Gers are gaining momentum at the “right time.”
If the Light Blues win the upcoming Old Firm derby, he thinks Philippe Clement might accomplish a “miraculous” title comeback.
Rangers and Philippe Clement depend on Old Firm
Despite their remarkable early success under Clement, Rangers are currently three points behind Celtic in the title race for a number of reasons.
They lost both of their Old Firm matches this season, which has a lot to do with the disastrous start to the season they had under Michael Beale.
It won’t be until the penultimate match of the season, a possible title decider between the two teams at Ibrox on April 6, that the Gers will get an opportunity to exact revenge for those losses.
Clement must ensure that his team stays in the race until that point and that they show up to face their Glasgow rivals when it matters most.
Though there is still plenty of football to be played before that day, the Light Blues will need to balance their cup ties with their title aspirations in order to win further trophies this season. It’s already an exciting match to contemplate.
