I Speak The “Truth” Even As A Manager From Another Club, Birmingham City Fc Is The Only EFL Club That…

Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield still rates Birmingham City as favourites for the League One title.

Bloomfield’s side have overtaken Blues in the race for the Championship in recent weeks and take a two-point lead into this weekend’s fixtures.

Blues play bottom-of-the-table Shrewsbury Town and Wycombe travel to play-off chasers Lincoln City.

Blues have a game-in-hand on Wycombe and Bloomfield has previously tipped Chris Davies’ side for promotion, but no team in the third tier is in better form than the Chairboys.

Wycombe are undefeated in 12 league games since opening the campaign with back-to-back defeats to Wrexham and Blues.

I’ve been at this level long enough to know that the guys with the biggest budgets usually finish at the top,” Bloomfield told The Telegraph. “They can recruit the best players and have the biggest squads.

You would still expect Birmingham and Wrexham to be right up the top of the league, but for us it’s an incredible challenge.”

Blues enjoyed the biggest spending transfer window of all League One clubs with an outlay in excess of £20million on 17 new players. They also broke the League One transfer record to sign striker Jay Stansfield from Fulham.
