Novak Djokovic has established his scepter-wielding imperium at the Masters 1000 level, as he has at all others! Novak owns numerous Masters 1000 records, including the most titles, finals, semi-finals, wins, and matches.

The Serb was unable to add the 41st Masters 1000 shield to his collection in Miami, losing to Jakub Mensik in two tie breaks in the final. However, the greatest player of all time amassed more records and accomplishments at the top ATP events.

By reaching the title clash, Djokovic became the first player with a Masters 1000 final in 18 seasons, leaving Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on 17 and ruling the chart.

Novak played his first Masters 1000 final in Indian Wells and Miami in 2007 at 19. The Serb became one of the most consistent players at this level in the upcoming years, although he did not reach the title match in 2010.

Djokovic lost three semi-finals that year and missed an opportunity to have 19 consecutive years with a Masters 1000 final! However, he bounced back in 2011 and became the ruler of this series! That year, Novak embraced a 33-1 run, winning five titles from six finals.

Novak has never missed a Masters 1000 final in the next 15 seasons. He has been collecting them with passion and desire to pass his greatest rivals and notch another record that will take some beating. Djokovic’s only Masters 1000 final in 2023 came in Shanghai.

It was enough to extend his streak and match Federer and Nadal with 17 seasons with at least one. Novak will play more Masters 1000 events in 2025, including four or all five in the first half of the year. He suffered an early loss in Indian Wells.

However, the six-time champion rebounded in Miami, defeating five challengers and reaching his 60th Masters 1000 final at the age of 37! Djokovic lost a close 7-6, 7-6 match to Jakub Mensik in two hours and three minutes while chasing his 100th ATP championship.

The veteran kept in touch with a youth, and both players scored 76 points. However, a teenager maintained his composure in both tie breaks, securing the crucial points and advancing to the next round. Novak will go for the milestone title in Monte Carlo next week.
