Abdoulaye Doucoure raves about Iliman Ndiaye in Everton pre-season verdict

Abdoulaye Doucoure has stated that Iliman Ndiaye has shown “good quality” in the first stages of pre-season training.

Ndiaye arrived at Goodison Park from Marseille near the start of the window as Sean Dyche looks to add more goals and creativity to his team.

Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Doucoure raved about the quality of Ndiaye and has also been suitably impressed by fellow new signing Tim Iroegbunam, who signed from Aston Villa.

“The mood is very positive. We have welcomed the new boys and Tim [Iroegbunam] is a very good player,” he said.

“Iliman [Ndiaye] is also showing good quality, they are good signings for us who are going to help us this season.”

Last season was arguably one of the toughest that Everton have had to go through.

The club were punished for two separate breaches of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules and were deducted a total of eight points as a result.

It left the Toffees fighting another campaign against relegation again but a strong end to the campaign ultimately saw them finish well clear of the drop.

After managing to survive in one of football’s strongest leagues once again, Sean Dyche set out this summer transfer window with reinforcement in mind.

The club was one of the first Premier League teams to make a move in the market and swiftly managed to bring back Jack Harrison on a season-long loan [Fabrizio Romano, 24 June] from Leeds United.

Iroegbunam was then brought in and was then followed by Ndiaye. It remains to be seen how much Iroegbunam will feature this season, but the former Aston Villa man will no doubt have a bright future ahead.

And similarly, there’s no doubt that Senegal international Ndiaye will want to make an impact on the top flight and will attempt come out all guns blazing come the start of the season.
