Good News; Western Conference Rivals To Lakers’ Wing Trade Target

The Los Angeles Lakers are at the forefront of many trade targets. With the NBA Trade Deadline only a few days away, your Lakers will look to make a move to get back into title contention. It may not happen all at once, but they’ll look to bolster their roster by the time we hit noon on Thursday. A lot will happen between now and Thursday; however, the Lakers aren’t the only team looking to improve. Their Western Conference rivals, the Dallas Mavericks, will also look to make considerable moves, including targeting one player who the Lakers have their eye on.

According to Clutch Points’ Brett Siegel, the Mavs have their eye on a reunion defensive-minded forward and potential Laker trade target Dorian Finney-Smith, whom they traded to the Brooklyn Nets last season.

“Dallas has been in contact with the Brooklyn Nets in attempts to bring two-way forward Dorian Finney-Smith back, sources said. A coveted wing on the trade block, the Mavs are willing to give up multiple draft assets for the veteran.” (per Brett Siegel) The Lakers will have some competition, and it will be against Finney-Smith’s former team. The Mavericks dealt Finney-Smith last year when they landed superstar Kyrie Irving in a blockbuster deal. Dallas will now look to bring back their old friend and add a defensive Stallworth in Finney-Smith.

However, the Lakers may also look to add the eight-year veteran. According to The Athletic’s and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the Lakers are interested in Finney-Smith, plus Spencer Dinwiddie and Royce O’Neale. It’s unclear who the Lakers would give up, but adding these three players could make the purple and gold a formidable competitor. Things are winding down, and we’ll soon find out who will be real buyers at the trade deadline.
