What Georginio Rutter told he’s ‘lacking urgency’ by former Whites’ boss
Former Leeds boss left irritated by Georginio Rutter
Former Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has told Georginio Rutter he needs to start finding the back of the net with his lack of urgency irritating the former Whites boss.
“He doesn’t really look like he is going to finish”, Redfearn told BBC Radio Leeds after the draw with the Owls. “There are some parts of me that feel a little bit for him, but I don’t think he helps himself at times.

“I look at his body language, there is no urgency to him. I think you can work yourself out of a problem, you can really graft and close down for your team and be that extra body up top when you have not got it as well and close down.
“You just don’t see any of that and that probably is irritating. Because that comes to the fore off the back of missed chances, he missed a boatload of chances at Salford.
“I said after the game he is getting in the positions, great, you have got to applaud that and there is a case for saying that again today. You know if you keep getting in those positions, but sooner or later you’ve got to start finding the back of the net.”
Daniel Farke approaching telling call as late transfer activity poses Leeds United dilemma
Daniel Farke won’t be short of selection headaches when it comes to putting his Leeds United starting XI together to face Millwall after the international break. The Whites bolstered their squad with five new signings over the last eight days of the window and fitting them all in looks like it could be tricky business.
There’s decisions to make in the front four, with Jaidon Anthony available and capable of stepping in, while the midfield selection looks tough, too, with Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara competing with Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray for spots in the line-up. However, perhaps one of the toughest choices the head coach will have to make comes at right-back with both Luke Ayling and Djed Spence vying for a starting role.
Saturday’s choice was a little easier for Farke, given Spence hadn’t played a minute of competitive football prior to his switch to Elland Road. As such, Ayling got the nod for the Whites and fared relatively well against Sheffield Wednesday before he made way for Spence’s bow in the 81 st minute of the contest.
Leeds United have found successful Championship answer to transfer issue which threatened season
Just nine hours before the transfer window closed Leeds United manager Daniel Farke was explaining how happy he was to be seeing the window about to shut and how he was equally relieved to have escaped unscathed after expectation all summer that Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto would be on the way out. Then came the sucker punch!
As the clock ticked down relief gave way to frustration as news came that AFC Bournemouth were stepping up their bid to land Sinisterra, with the player ready to dig his heels in around a contract clause which had seen omitted from training just weeks earlier. The Colombian was on his way out and Leeds could do little to stop it with a feeling their hand was forced.
Receiving a handsome sum for the winger with no time left in the window to spend the money was pointless, so getting something else in return was crucial. In step Jaidon Anthony, with a swap deal agreed. It was perhaps as good as Leeds could have hoped for at such a late stage,. but while the deal ha shad a mixed reception from some, former player Carlton Palmer is of the belief the Whites have got a good player on their hands to tackle the demands of the Championship.
Leeds United set for important international break with Daniel Farke ‘looking forward’
Daniel Farke and Leeds United are gearing up for an important fortnight at Thorp Arch but a handful of new faces will be absent after their international call-ups. The break will give the head coach a vital opportunity to get his ideas across to his new players, who joined prior to the window closing.
Glen Kamara and Djed Spence made their debuts from the bench against Sheffield Wednesday, but Ilia Gruev missed out all together. Both Kamara and Gruev will be in action for their respective countries
Speaking ahead of the break, Farke said: “I’m experienced to know it’s a long season, you don’t have to be where you want to be after five game days or after 10 game days. Just about where you have 46 games and we have proper group and we have something to build on.
“I’m looking forward to have some time on training pitch with these lads and I’m also quite sure that we’ll find also some times when we find it definitely easier to find the back of the net.”
Daniel Farke’s three-fold Thorp Arch agenda as Leeds United enter international break
The transfer window is shut, the international break is here and Daniel Farke will be looking forward to getting some work done on the Thorp Arch training field over the next couple of weeks. It’s been a testing few months for the German, but after a lot of turnover, he finally knows how his Leeds United squad will look for the first half of the campaign.
He has just under two weeks to prepare United for their next game at Millwall and he’ll be keen to see progress made. Of course, a number of players will be leaving camp to link up with their respective national sides this week, but there’ll be enough left behind for Farke to really make his mark.
After winning just one of his first five league games in change, here’s what he needs to work on over the next fortnight.
