Fremantle’s 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft Preview

Published

on

The 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft will be held on Monday 16 December at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, with all draft selections to be announced.

Fremantle currently holds picks No. 13, 34, 38 and 51, following movements in the 2024 AFLW Trade Period in early December.

An active Trade Period saw the Club trade picks 31, 45 and 49, as well as farewelling Airlie Runnalls and Ariana Hetherington, while acquiring Bella Smith and acquire picks 34, 38 and 51 to strengthen the Club’s Draft hand.

The Club also recently advised five players they would not be offered contracts for 2025 in Makaela Tuhakaraina, Jae Flynn, Serena Gibbs, Tara Stribley and Tahleah Mulder.

Although last year’s draft allowed prospects to nominate for a national pool, this will mark the first year in the league’s history where the AFLW Draft will be fully nationwide, with all nominees available to be selected by any of the 18 clubs, regardless of their home state.

The 2024 AFLW Draft will be broadcast on AFL.com.au, the AFLW App and the Official AFL Live App from 4:00pm AWST on Monday 16 December.

Earlier today the Club also announced the contract extensions of Tunisha Kikoak, Ebony Antonio, Gabby Biedenweg-Webster and Amy Mulholland.
