FANTASTIC MOVE: Forest In Tense Talk To Bring Another Young Talent

Nottingham Forest are busy trying to reshape their squad ahead of the new season – but now one player looks to be scrubbed off the shortlist.

The Reds have already added five players to their ranks as Nuno Espirito Santo aims to have a better squad next season.

Marko Stamenic has signed and then joined Olympiacos on loan, with Eric da Silva Moreira, Carlos Miguel, Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic all checking in.

Forest have a number of positions that still need some addressing and Espirito Santo will be keen to get those in place ahead of schedule before the new season.

A new striker will likely be among the list of transfer targets for this summer – but now one player linked with Forest will need to be taken off the list.

Nottingham Forest target set to sign for Serie A club Torino

Fabrizio Romano has delivered a transfer update this afternoon that will provide Forest with a bit of an update on their new striker search.

Romano posted on X earlier today, saying: “Torino are closing in on a deal to sign Che Adams as a free agent, talks at a final stage now.

“Che Adams has approved project presented by Torino and final details are being sorted.”

Che Adams was linked with a move to the City Ground but it appears he’s now set to sign for Torino in Italy.

Adams was in fine form at Southampton last season, scoring 15 goals as they won promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs.

The 28-year-old can play in a number of positions across the final third and his versatility might have proved ideal.

Adams was with the Scotland squad out in Germany for Euro 2024, starting all three games as they were knocked out at the group stages of the tournament.

He’s been called ‘terrific’ in the past and now he will hope to prove himself as a big hit in Italy with Torino.

Forest can get better than Adams

This one probably isn’t worth losing any sleep about and there are definitely better options – ones more suited to an Espirito Santo style of play – that Forest can go for.

Okay, Adams would have been free and that would have perhaps made him an attractive proposition for the Reds.

His goalscoring record in the Championship was good last season but he’s not always been quite so clinical in the Premier League.

Given that the forward is now 28, he perhaps wouldn’t fit in with the recruitment strategy at Forest and perhaps that’s why the club have not won the race.

Torino feels like a good move for Adams and the challenge for him now is to show Forest and Wolves just what they’ve missed out on in the transfer market.

Nottingham Forest did a backscratching exercise in the transfer market with Newcastle this summer.

Both clubs were keen to avoid PSR sanctions and did a deal involving Elliot Anderson and Odysseas Vlachodimos.

Forest took Anderson to bolster their midfield ranks, with the Greek goalkeeper leaving the City Ground to sign for the Magpies.

Vlachodimos only played nine times in all competitions for the Reds and didn’t exactly do much to warrant keeping the gloves.

Not that he was horrific by any stretch but he was part of the Forest team during a number of games where the performances were rather poor.

Now, some information on the deal has come to light and it makes for good reading from a Forest perspective.

It’s fair to say that this is quite astonishing from a Forest perspective and the Reds will be buzzing with this business.
