Fabrizio Romano Reaction On A Deal Of £26m star That wants to leave Tottenham now
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
With so many of their star players out, Spurs are anticipated to be busy during the winter transfer window. While many will be focused on the new arrivals, some players may also decide to depart Tottenham. Hojbjerg might now follow Hugo Lloris out the door as he is about to do so.
Fabrizio Romano says Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to leave Tottenham
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was always one of the first names on the Tottenham team sheet when Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte were at the helm.
The Dane has been a solid player for Spurs over the years. He has made his fair share of mistakes, but some of his performances early on in his career in North London were fantastic.
However, Hojbjerg is no longer the first-choice at Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou doesn’t fancy him and even young Pape Matar Sarr is ahead of him in the pecking order.
That’s why Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from Tottenham over the last few months, and Romano has now claimed that the midfielder wants to leave the club in January.
He said on Kick: “Look, for Hojbjerg, we have to keep an eye on Italian clubs because Italian clubs are keeping a close eye on Hojbjerg. I’m hearing that Juventus, despite a lot of links, still see other players in that position as a priority more than Pierre Hojbjerg.
In September, Hojbjerg switched agencies since he was looking to move on and join a another team. However, Tottenham requires it to be either a long-term loan with a purchase obligation or a permanent move. Either the transfer is assured, or nothing happens.
“Juventus likes the player, for sure, but from what I understand, at least right now, it’s not a top concern. “Pierre Hojbjerg is appreciated by Napoli.”
Tottenham need a replacement
If the price is right, Tottenham won’t mind selling Hojbjerg; however, Ange Postecoglou will need to find a successor before allowing the Dane to depart.
Rodrigo Bentancur won’t be back until February, and Yves Bissouma hasn’t shown much discipline. Oliver Skipp’s ability to perform at the highest level is still under doubt, therefore it will be challenging to depend on him in the second half of the season.
Rated at £26 million Although Hojbjerg hasn’t played well for Tottenham lately, he does have experience, something some of the other midfield players at Tottenham don’t.
Thus, Tottenham will need to find a replacement if they allow him to depart next month. They will be extremely light in the center of the park if they don’t.
