Newcastle United look set to receive good news ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Monday night.

The Magpies are in fine form as they head to Old Trafford, with Eddie Howe’s side on a run of four consecutive victories

Newcastle beat Aston Villa 3-0 on Boxing Day, as they re-established themselves as a contender for Champions League qualification.

Next up is Manchester United, who have major issues ahead of tonight’s game. Ruben Amorim’s side are down in 14th place, and have lost their last three games in all competitions.

On top of that, Bruno Fernandes is suspended against Newcastle after his red card versus Wolves. As is Manuel Ugarte, who picked up his fifth booking of the season at Molineux

And while the Manchester United squad gets weaker, Newcastle’s could get stronger.

Tino Livramento update ahead of Manchester United vs Newcastle

Eddie Howe was forced to make a change to his starting XI on Boxing Day, with Kieran Trippier replacing Tino Livramento at right-back due to illness.

It did not have an adverse impact on the team, with Trippier producing a very impressive performance on what was his first start since October 5th.

However, he might not retain his place in the side, as the Chronicle are reporting that Livramento is expected to return to the Newcastle United squad for the game against Manchester United.
