Doctor: Rangers player undergoes neuromuscular training, bad news
Rangers striker Danilo will currently be undergoing neuromuscular training to recover from his knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert is in agreement with the Gers medical staff’s approach to not rush him back after a serious setback.
Philippe Clement has stated that it seems unlikely he will return to the first team before the end of the season.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Clement has said that the medical staff do not want to rush him back just for the sake that he’s available at the end of the season.
“The comments highlight a sensible approach with the injury – they aren’t trying to rush him back if he’s not ready just for him to play a couple of weeks.
“His day to day will be a progression of strength, mobility and neuromuscular training with more and more sport-specific work.
“Even if he’s back in individual training this season, he will not be returning before April.“
Danilo will be like a new signing for Rangers
The Brazilian showed glimpses of why he was brought to Ibrox in the summer and he’s certainly going to have an impact next season.
He has scored four league goals and provided an assist in 12 games this season and while those numbers may not be overly impressive, just five of them were starts.
Hopefully, he recovers well and Philippe Clement manages to find a way to bring the best out of him and he’ll have the influence that a new signing does to an attack.
