Doctor: Rangers ace mooted to return quicker than expected after surgery

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers.

There is a possibility of Rangers striker Danilo being back before time and not be ruled out for the rest of the season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the initial timeline until April or May is the average time it takes to recover from a knee surgery.

Philippe Clement said in January that the club would not be rushing the Brazilian striker back just so that he could play a few games at the end of the season.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Sounds like the club is not rushing his recovery and taking any risks after a knee surgery.

His return before the end of the season will depend on how he responds to rehab.

Should he respond well, there’s always the possibility of being back quicker than normal.

Initial timelines are usually what it would take for an average player and there are a lot of variables.

It makes sense for Gers not to rush him back, especially if it’s going to be a high-stakes point in their campaign, challenging for the league.

However, if he naturally recovers then Clement would not mind integrating him back into the first team squad.

Thus far, there have been no significant indicators showcasing that he’s not on track with his recovery.
