Dewsbury-Hall Motion as they take on Championship promotion Monday Vedic
How Leicester City could line up at the King Power Stadium as they take on Championship promotion rivals Ipswich on Monday evening with problems to solve in midfield
Dennis Praet could make his first Leicester City start since August if Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is not passed fit to take on promotion rivals Ipswich on Monday night.
The midfield is where the problems lie for City ahead of the huge clash at the King Power Stadium, with Enzo Maresca short on options after Cesare Casadei’s surprise loan recall and Dewsbury-Hall’s injury. It could mean Praet is required.
A back injury saw the Belgian miss four months of the season and minor injuries over the past few weeks have limited him to a handful of substitute appearances. Now he may be needed, although Dewsbury-Hall will push to be in contention.
After taking studs to his upper leg in the penalty incident at Coventry, Dewsbury-Hall had missed training up to Thursday. If he has since got a session or two under his belt, he may be declared available to take on the Tractor Boys.
If not then it will likely be Praet and Yunus Akgun filling the advanced midfield roles. The only other option would be to push Ricardo Pereira forward and play Hamza Choudhury at right-back, something Maresca did for the defeat at Middlesbrough.
City have to make a change on the right wing too with Abdul Fatawu now suspended. Kasey McAteer made his return from a hamstring issue at Coventry last week and is the obvious choice to start on that flank.
Jamie Vardy is fit again and is expected to make his first appearance since November, but that is likely to come from the bench. Tom Cannon is again expected to lead the line.
Predicted City line-up (4-3-3): Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Yunus, Dewsbury-Hall; McAteer, Cannon, Mavididi.
