CONFIRMED: What Nottingham Forest Said About Their New Signed Star
Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United.
The midfielder has signed a five-year deal which keeps him at the Club until the summer of 2029.
Anderson arrives at The City Ground having been on Newcastle’s books since the age of eight, going on to play 55 times for the Magpies and racking up 44 Premier League appearances at 21-years-old.
A creative midfielder capable of playing as an eight or as a number 10, Anderson made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in January 2021 following several standout performances for Newcastle’s U23s.
A first loan move away from St. James’ Park came halfway through the following campaign, playing a hugely influential role in helping Bristol Rovers win promotion from Sky Bet League Two, registering eight goals and five assists in just 21 games for the Gas.
That loan proved to be a catalyst for Anderson’s progress, making 27 first team appearances upon his return to Tyneside in 2022/23 as Newcastle qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
Anderson made a further 26 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side in 2023/24, registering two assists in just 10 Premier League starts and making his Champions League debut against AC Milan at the San Siro in September.
Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson said: “We are all delighted to welcome Elliot to Nottingham Forest and pleased that he has chosen to continue to develop his talent with us in the Premier League.
“We are sure he will thrive in a Forest shirt, as other players in his age profile have done.
“As soon as the opportunity arose for him to potentially join, it was something we were all excited to make happen.”
A full first interview with Anderson will be published on Forest TV on Monday.
Welcome to Nottingham, Elliot!
