The pursuit of new talent at both ends of the pitch for Rangers seems to be intensifying, with the club linked to potential transfers involving both a defender and a striker.

   Thomas Galdames
Chilean defender Thomas Galdames, who recently played a standout game for Godoy Cruz, may be on Rangers’ radar. In his potential final game for the Argentine club, Galdames delivered an impressive performance with two assists in a 4-0 victory over El Porvenir in the Argentine Cup. Despite this, Galdames has publicly stated that he is unaware of any concrete transfer developments, emphasizing his focus on the national team and the upcoming Copa America. His contract with Godoy Cruz is set to expire in six months, making a transfer likely. Rangers’ interest in Galdames comes amid their frustrations in securing Jose Cordoba from Levski Sofia.

   Albion Rrahmani
At the other end of the pitch, Rangers are also reportedly keen on Rapid Bucharest striker Albion Rrahmani. The Kosovo international has had a successful stint in Romania, scoring 19 goals in his debut season and previously winning the Golden Boot in Kosovo. Rrahmani’s departure from Rapid Bucharest seems imminent, with assistant coach Bogdan Lobont giving him a symbolic substitution to receive a standing ovation from fans. Rapid Bucharest, having already lined up a replacement in Louis Munteanu from Fiorentina, appear prepared for Rrahmani’s exit. The transfer fee for Rrahmani is speculated to be around £4.6 million, a figure that represents a potential bargain for Rangers, who are seeking a reliable and effective striker.

Rangers’ pursuit of these players highlights their efforts to strengthen both their defensive and offensive capabilities, addressing key areas of need as they prepare for the upcoming season.
