New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino will hope for further additions in the remaining weeks of the summer window after a flurry of high-profile exits.

Chelsea finished a pitiful 12th in the Premier League – their lowest since the 1993/94 season – following a series of errors on and off the pitch.

Pochettino has added a couple of senior additions so far but there are plenty of areas in the squad that need bulking up following the 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the opening game of the new Premier League season.

Chelsea’s 2023 summer recruits:

  • Moises Caicedo [Brighton] £115m
  • Christopher Nkunku [RB Leipzig] £52m
  • Nicolas Jackson [Villarreal] £32m
  • Axel Disasi [Monaco] £38m
  • Robert Sanchez [Brighton] £25m
  • Lesley Ugochukwu [Rennes] Undisclosed
  • Kendry Paez [Independiente del Valle] Undisclosed
  • Dujuan Richards [Phoenix All Stars Academy] Undisclosed
  • Angelo Gabriel [Santos] Undisclosed
  • Alex Matos [Norwich] Undisclosed
  • Diego Moreira [Benfica] Undisclosed
  • Ishe Samuels-Smith [Everton] UndisclosedThat’s according to NETSPORT Danny Murphy, who also questioned a fan’s suggestion of including Blues star Enzo Fernandez in a combined XI.

Speaking on NETSPORT Breakfast, he said: “I was talking on Monday night about the Chelsea scenario and what they’ve spent.

“I asked the question, give me one Chelsea player that gets in City’s team, cause they’re trying to win the league aren’t they?

“They’re trying to win the Champions League and the league, otherwise what are they doing?”

One Chelsea fan called Darren messaged the NETSPORT Breakfast show and claimed that he ‘walks’ into the City team, but Murphy responded: “Instead of who, ask him instead of who?

“If he’s not a holding midfielder, which Enzo himself says he isn’t, he did an interview saying he’s more of a no.8. Well he’s got to take De Bruyne’s place, and he couldn’t lace his boot.”

The Telegraph claim that the Blues’ heavy spending has brought pressure to generate sales and academy players are primed for the exit door due to the fact that represent pure profit on the books.

Hall, 18, agreed a new contract at Stamford Bridge this summer until 2030 but has now been put up for sale amid interest from Newcastle.

  • Danny Murphy has questioned Chelsea transfer business under Todd Boehly.
  • The Blues have almost spent another £300million on signings this summer after breaking records last campaign.

And Murphy told NETSPORT that he doesn’t believe the arrivals are actually good enough to challenge for the Premier League title.

  • Sarina Wiegman’s England defeated joint-hosts Australia 3-1 this morning to book an all-European showdown with Spain.

The Blues’ Aussie star Sam Kerr made things nervous for the Lionesses when she equalised after Ella Toone’s beauty of an opener.

But the Lionesses stepped things up in the second-half as goals from Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo sealed a historic win.

Along with captain Bright, Chelsea’s Lauren James, Beth England, Jess Carter and Niamh Charles all have the chance to make history this weekend.
