George Hall has sealed a season-long move to Birmingham’s League Two neighbours Walsall after a deal was struck between the two clubs.

The 20-year-old is seen as a hot prospect for the future at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park but he isn’t in manager Chris Davies’ plans for the current campaign. Blues are understood to have been searching for a club to loan Hall to and a move is now complete.

The 20-year-old is seen as a hot prospect for the future at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park but he isn’t in manager Chris Davies’ plans for the current campaign. Blues are understood to have been searching for a club to loan Hall to and a move is now complete.

Blues are backing boss Chris Davies heavily in the transfer market as they try to make sure their stay in League One is as brief as possible. Stansfield was on loan at Birmingham last season and the club are desperate to bring him back. They made a huge bid in the region of £10m for him earlier today, which would have smashed the League One transfer record.

Fulham though have now knocked that back. Cottagers boss Marco Silva is a firm admirer of Stansfield and is not interested in seeing the club sell him. The ball is now back in Birmingham’s court to decide what to do.

Given the big level of their offer it is unclear whether Blues are prepared to go even higher to test Fulham once again.
