BREAKING; West Brom Confirm Grady Diangana Decision On Wenesday
For Tuesday’s Championship match at The Hawthorns against Sheffield Wednesday, Carlos Corberan has announced the starting lineup for West Brom.
According to the club’s X account, Corberan just substituted Grady Diangana for Brandon Thomas-Asante in the lineup that defeated Preston North End away.
On the back of a 4-0 victory, the Baggies will look to build momentum against the struggling Sheffield Wednesday side to push themselves into a playoff spot
The Baggies’ 4-0 win at Deepdale was their best performance of the campaign to date, and Corberan will be eager to build on this momentum to try and see the Baggies into a playoff spot.
A big win could see the side move as high as fourth, albeit just temporarily with other fixtures yet to be played. However, despite a middling start to the season, the Baggies will back themselves against bottom-of-the-league Wednesday, who have managed just two points.
John Swift is a man in fine form this season, with four goals in the Championship, but would have been frustrated not to get on the score sheet at Preston.
West Brom dominated the title contenders in Deepdale. Corberan’s team shot at Freddie Woodman’s goal 19 times despite having less possession of the ball, and the manager would have felt more secure knowing that four different players scored.
This match is the ideal chance to build on that victory and start accruing points. The Baggies’ next two games are against Plymouth Argyle and Birmingham City, both of which are contending for the playoffs, so dropping three points to the hapless Owls would be a significant opportunity lost.
However, given the outcome from the previous weekend, the majority would pick West Brom to return the points to Birmingham.
