Breaking News: Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in a new deal with Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have been connected with a number of Serie A forwards recently. One of these has been Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
The Lilywhites have selected Dusan Vlahovic as one of the objectives to replace the vacuum left by the iconic Harry Kane in the summer of 2023. In fact, they have emerged as the early frontrunners to sign the Serbian international, ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Vlahovic’s stock has dipped a bit since last season. He has fallen behind Randal Kolo Muani—a loan acquisition from Paris Saint-Germain during the winter transfer window—in the pecking order under Thiago Motta. The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season, of which only 16 have come as a starter.
Discussions over a new deal with the Belgrade-born star have reached an impasse, which has perhaps led to Juventus now open to sanctioning his permanent exit in the summer.
Now, according to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Turin giants are willing to accept a fee in the region of €40m for Vlahovic to offload his hefty wages and make room in the squad for new signings. The centre-forward has entered the final 16 months of his contract at the Allianz Stadium, so the Serie A side realistically have the upcoming summer transfer window as the best opportunity to get a decent fee.
Juventus were open to selling Vlahovic during the past January transfer window itself. Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr showed interest in the ex-Fiorentina star, but the forward never considered the move as he wanted to continue playing in Europe.
Tottenham will have the potential to strengthen their attacking ranks ahead of the 2025/26 season by signing Vlahovic. The striker has proven himself in Serie A and is now keen to test himself in the Premier League if he leaves Juventus. Tottenham would benefit from the Serb’s toughness, quickness, and aerial skills, as well as the Serie A heavyweights’ €40 million price tag.
