BREAKING: Coady and Albrighton React to Abdul Fatawu’s Viral Post

Abdul Fatawu’s permanent arrival at Leicester City has been made official ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

Given a deal had effectively been agreed with Sporting Lisbon last summer, Abdul Fatawu making last season’s loan at Leicester City permanent was all but a formality.

However, new manager Steve Cooper will still be delighted that the £14.3 million move is now confirmed as he picks up the pieces following the double blow of the Championship-winning manager and best player at the club both leaving.

Both Enzo Maresca and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall left the Foxes to join Chelsea and Cooper must help his squad move on quickly with the Premier League season on the horizon.

That will start with the first friendly of pre-season against Villarreal on Saturday and Fatawu will hope to be involved after securing a permanent home at the King Power.

Fatawu is a popular figure at Leicester following his season on loan.

The Ghanaian winger made 43 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven and assisting 13 as he was a key part of the side that won the Championship.

Most notably, Fatawu scored a hat-trick in the 5-0 thrashing of Southampton that all but confirmed promotion in April.

Following the announcement of his permanent signing Fatawu took to Instagram to post a picture of himself sporting the new Leicester home kit with the caption: ‘The journey continues, I was here to stay. Let’s go Foxes’.

Recently-released Leicester legend Marc Albrighton, who amassed 313 appearances for the club as well as winning the Premier League and FA Cup, was quick to react as he commented with two hearts.

Conor Coady also expressed his delight at the news, as he said: ‘Place wouldn’t be the same without you my brother’.

Fatawu lit up the Championship last season with his energy, pace and trickery.

At 20, he is only going to get better and Cooper will know he has a real talent on his hands.

Leicester are keen to sign another winger this summer, but Fatawu should be a feature of the side given his flair for the unexpected and ability to beat his man at will.

It will be tough for Leicester upon their return to the Premier League and Fatawu could prove to be a really effective outlet when Cooper’s side find themselves under pressure against a higher calibre of opponent.

Leicester fans will be pleased to see the winger’s return and can now look forward to him terrorising Premier League full-backs.
