Boston Celtics Fans Line Up for Hours Before 2024 Championship Parade

It’s been a long time coming, but the Boston Celtics finally won their 18th championship. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown exorcised the demons of their 2022 Finals loss to win the first of (hopefully) many titles as the best team in the NBA.

New England is equally happy with the achievements of the Celtics as they’re a champion town once again. They did their share in making sure the TD Garden is as hostile a stadium for opposing teams as possible, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that they’re a part of their team’s win.

After the Celtics secured the series from the Dallas Mavericks, the city was more than eager to celebrate a sporting win for the first time in a good while. The devotion of the Celtics fans went to extreme lengths as they didn’t hide their excitement for the championship parade.

Boston Celtics fans showed up before sunrise for the championship parade

Championship parades are part and parcel of American professional sports since it’s celebrating the team’s outstanding season in front of its most devoted fans.

Since these parades usually have a good chunk of the residents showing up in droves, it’s usually a good idea to show up hours before the parade proper to have your selection of the best spots available.

However, two of the biggest Celtics fans took things to the extreme as they went to the parade location during the early morning hours.

Per The Spun’s Kameron Duncan:

A pair of Celtics fans went viral on social media, claiming that they were camping out for the celebratory championship parade well before it gets underway in the city.

One of the biggest reasons these two fans went extra early for the parade was that they once again have more championships than the Los Angeles Lakers, the team’s historic rivals. For a city that prides itself as a major sporting city, such a record only adds to the Boston Celtics legend.

It also helps that the team’s core is in the midst of its athletic peak. Fans wouldn’t be delusional to expect a couple more chips from the C’s in the future.
