Bolton Wanderers Boss: “Very Good” That’s What I Expected From You Even Ahead Of Birmingham City Clash, But The…

Excellent’ – Bolton Wanderers man hailed by Steven Schumacher ahead of Birmingham City clash

Bolton Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher has said Will Forrester has been ‘excellent’ since his took over.

Bolton Wanderers’ defender has enjoyed a run in the team over recent times. BWFC are currently eyeing a place in the League One play-offs

Forrester, 23, helped the Trotters draw 0-0 away at Wrexham last time out. They are sat 7th in the table and are two points off the play-offs behind Charlton Athletic with 13 fixtures left to play.

Schumacher has said, as per a report by The Bolton News: “Will is in good form, he got Player of the Month from the fans, and rightly so, he’s been excellent. I had a conversation with him on the first day, and he said: ‘Look, I just need someone to believe in me and give me a run of games.’ And he hasn’t really had that here, he’s felt that he’s always played, and as soon as somebody else was fit and available, he was out.

So, I said, well, that won’t be the case, if you’re doing the business and you’re playing well, then you play.”

He added: “All I can say is, since we’ve come in the building, he’s been excellent, he really has, and he has been on it every day in training, been willing to learn, and we’re helping him.”

Bolton Wanderers’ Will Forrester hailed

Forrester, who is from Cheshire, has made 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 17 of which have come in the league

Bolton Wanderers landed him back in 2023 and he is under contract until June 2026

He gives the Trotters more competition and depth at the back.

Forrester started his career at Stoke City and rose up through their academy ranks

He was a regular for the Potters at various different youth levels as a youngster before going on to play four times for their first-team.

The centre-back was loaned out by the Staffordshire club to Mansfield Town to get some experience under his belt.

Port Vale then snapped him up on a permanent basis in 2022 and he became a key player for the Valiants.

Forrester made 38 outings during his year at Vale Park and found the net twice from the back before Bolton Wanderers came calling.

What now for Bolton Wanderers?

Next up for the Trotters is a tricky home clash against Birmingham City on Tuesday night.

They then face Burton Albion away this weekend.
