Bolton Wanderers Boss Released A Fresh Statement After Match “Victory,” And He Strictly…

Bolton Wanderers boss makes Leyton Orient prediction

STEVEN Schumacher believes Wanderers will cross swords with Leyton Orient again this season.

The O’s have upset the odds to take a position in the top six to date but Bolton drew level on points with them and fellow Londoners Charlton Athletic with their win on Saturday afternoon at the Toughsheet Stadium.

Just 14 games remain in the season but Schumacher remains confident that Richie Wellens’ side will remain in top six contention.

He said: “It was a big game. I know we talked in the build-up about pressure and the expectation of the club and that this was a really important three points.

“It was a big game because we were up against a really good side, I think they’ve lost one game since November. The run that they’ve been on has been outstanding, the cup run that they’ve got on, the momentum that they’re building, they’ve been good.

“They have caused teams loads of problems on transition. I was pleased today that we didn’t get caught out too many times in those big spaces, so credit to our lads for snuffing that out. It was a tough game against a tough opponent, and I would be very surprised if we didn’t see them again.”

Asked to sum up what had changed at Wanderers since his arrival, Schumacher added: “I don’t know, because I haven’t been here the whole season, all we’ve focused on in the three and a bit weeks that we’ve been here.

“We have tried to get the players to play with an energy, play with a tempo, try and play forwards as much as possible, try and run forwards when they can, and enjoy what they’re trying to do.

“We’ve given them bits of information that I think will help, certainly in the short term, and definitely for the individuals in the long term, because of the work that we’ve put in.

“And it looks like people are enjoying what they’re doing, and the fans seem to be enjoying it, because it’s been exciting. If you have to keep coming from behind all the time, that probably helps.

“At this stage of the season we have to keep trying to build momentum, keep the lads playing with confidence, and if we can do that and the fans stick with us and behave like they did today, they were outstanding, they played a huge part, so I appreciate it.”
