Birmingham City Boss Has Spoken With Sky Sports About His Way To Champions League After “Securing” EPL Promotion And The…

Chris Davies knows special quality Birmingham City have going into the Championship

Chris Davies hailed Birmingham City’s ‘winning mentality’ after they sealed their 40th victory of the season in all competitions at Burton Albion on Easter Monday.

Alfons Sampsted and Jay Stansfield scored in Blues’ win at the Pirelli Stadium, which was also their 30th in League One.

Blues have 40 wins from their 56 matches to date in 2024/25. To put that into context, in the three seasons before this, Blues managed 42 wins from 148 games.

“I talk to the players about what it takes to win and what we have to do,” says Blues manager Davies.

“It’s important for me that we finish the season strong. It puts us in a great position.

“We could be on the beach and all this, but we’ve still got a lot of points to play for and we want to finish strong.

“The players have worked hard this season and we’ve built that winning mentality. We know how to win and that stands us in great stead moving forward.”

Blues reached 99 points with their latest triumph on the road and stand on the brink of a whole host of EFL records.

Two more victories would see Blues break the League One points record, three would break the EFL record and four would break the record for most wins in a single EFL season.

With games against Stevenage, Mansfield, Blackpool and Cambridge to come, Blues have the chance to make history before they return to the Championship.
