Another West Brown Star Gas Spoken “Angrily” About The Club And It…
‘It’s crazy’ – West Brom man delivers verdict on Championship season so far
West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer has said the Championship has been ‘crazy’ so far this season.
West Brom are sat in 5th place in the table and are inside the play-offs along with Leeds United, Burnley and Watford.
The Baggies won 2-1 away at Hull City in their last outing before the international after goals by Karlan Grant and Josh Maja at the MKM Stadium.
Palmer has said, as per the official club website: “If you look at the Championship, it’s crazy. We had six draws in-a-row before we went to Hull and won, yet we’re still in and around the play-off spots.
“If you look at how the league is this year, it’s really tight and it would appear teams are all taking points off each other. I think that’s why we’re a bit frustrated because if we had managed to turn a few of those draws into victories, then we would have been right up there.
“Games come thick and fast now. You have a good week in this league at this time of year and you can claw back so much ground. You have a bad week, and teams can get away from you.
“We’ve got a chance on Saturday at home to Norwich to set the tone for the next few months. We’d love to pick up three points at The Hawthorns and set the standard for the winter.”
West Brom season so far
Prior to their victory at Hull City, West Brom had drawn six in a row and were relieved to have ended that streak.
The Baggies are solid defensively and are a tough nut to crack at the back
They could do with being a bit more ruthless in front of goal though when they return from the break.
As Palmer alluded to, they will be frustrated that they don’t have a few more points on the board, despite being in a strong position at the moment.
Unlike the last campaign, there doesn’t appear to be any runaway teams this term so that provides teams like West Brom with an opportunity to be right up there.
Palmer has been their number one over the past couple of years and has kept the fourth most clean sheets behind Michael Cooper, Illan Meslier and James Trafford
What now?
West Brom are back in action this weekend with a home clash against Norwich City.
They will want to build some momentum now as they look to challenge the teams above them and keep their place in the top six.
