“All Revealed!” Details And Why Rabiot Move To Join Olympique Marseille In A Surprise “Twist”
Rabiot to Join Olympique Marseille in a Surprise Twist
After over three months as a free agent, Adrien Rabiot has found a new home at Olympique Marseille, which announced an agreement on principle on personal terms on Sunday night. He’ll put pen to paper once he passes the medicals.
He will sign a two-year contract with roughly €10M wages including add-ons, Alfredo Pedullà relays. He won’t get to play in the Champions League or England as he was seeking. He’ll retain some Italian ties since he’ll be coached by Roberto De Zerbi and the team is helmed by a few former Juventus executives.
Rabiot struck a deal with Olympique Marseille a few days after Didier Deschamps had called his situation “embarrassing,” inviting him to join a team so he could resume being an option for France. His mother and agent had a relatively heated exchange with Thiago Motta about his exit in recent days.
While Juventus had moved on long ago, the midfielder was linked to Milan late in the transfer window and also after Ismael Bennacer’s major injury. On the other hand, they reportedly offered a lower salary but a longer deal.
Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, and Saudi Arabia also courted him, Mediaset informs. Instead, he’ll be back in his home country, where he began his career at PSG.
Our Take on Rabiot and Marseille
It’s perhaps not as glamorous as he hoped, but it’s a solid landing spot and at the rate he was looking for if the figures are confirmed. Plus, he’ll get to do the whole song and dance again soon enough.
