Rowe is only tied down to Norwich until the summer of 2025, raising questions about his long-term future at Carrow Road. The Canaries may be tempted to cash in, either this month or at the end of the season, in order to avoid the possibility of losing him on a free transfer next year.
Palmer’s insistence that Rowe is in the same bracket as Gnonto could be a good sign for Tottenham if he ends up moving to north London in the not-too-distant future. Gnonto was previously hailed as a future City player by Neville, who waxed lyrical over the Italian forward when he was plying his trade in the Premier League with Leeds.
Following Leeds’ defeat to Aston Villa last January, Neville explained: “He’s such a lively player. For a teenager, he really knows the position. He’s hanging on the shoulder of [Ashley] Young and hogging that touch line. He’s really difficult to play against.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen him live and I’ve been really impressed. He looks very much like a Manchester City player. Leeds fans won’t thank me for saying that, I know, but he’s so intelligent on the ball.”
