29-year-old will leave Nottingham Forest if he doesn’t win his place back
Odysseas Vlachodimos will leave Nottingham Forest this summer if he fails to win his place back in the team.
This news comes from Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos.
So, what has been said about the Forest stopper Vlachodimos? Let’s take a closer look…
Odysseas Vlachodimos will leave Nottingham Forest if he doesn’t get game time
Well, it would appear as though the Greece number one wants to play regularly and he will look to do that with or without the Reds.
According to Giannis Chorianopoulos, Vlachodimos is ready to walk away from Forest in the summer as he bids to play.
The 29-year-old came to the City Ground during the summer from Benfica for £10 million.
He was forced to wait patiently for a chance to shine but didn’t grasp his opportunity when it was handed to him.
Vlachodimos being given the gloves coincided with some pretty ordinary form Forest – including a 5-0 defeat to Fulham.
The 39-cap player has made seven appearances for Forest in total and now it would appear he’s already considering his future.
Forest will offload goalkeeper during the summer
Given that Vlachodimos has a pedigree of doing pretty well in Europe, it shouldn’t be too tricky to get rid of him from a Forest point of view.
He’s played for Panathinaikos, Stuttgart and Benfica during his career and he’s not become a bad goalkeeper overnight.
For whatever reason, however, things just haven’t worked out for him at Forest, with Matz Sels and Matt Turner now ahead of him.
On Saturday, Vlachodimos wasn’t even on the bench for Forest and it makes absolutely no sense for him to remain at the City Ground beyond the summer.
Forest have struggled with their goalkeepers this season and in our view, it’s still one area that might end up costing the Reds this season.
