2 Rangers Superstars called up To Start as Cup Twist Emerges

Published

on

The options are thin for Philippe Clement as he looks to keep the magic happening in the hunt for a Treble.

Rangers got a positive result against Benfica during the week and it’s all about the Scottish Cup this weekend as they swap Lisbon for Leith where they will face Hibs this afternoon. Nick Montgomery and his team are ticking along nicely and will fancy an upset against a Gers squad that looks threadbare without Oscar Cortes and Todd Cantwell as well as long-term absentees Danilo and Abdallah Sima.

The cruel irony of it is all those injuries have come in similar positions with Dujon Sterling starting out wide against Benfica. But the good news is Ross McCausland was fit to come off the bench in that one and he could start today. Could there also be a role for 21-year-old Cole McKinnon who made his debut off the bench in midweek? He’s unlikely to start but it’s possible.

Predicted Rangers XI

John Lundstram took a sore one in Lisbon but he should be good to start this afternoon. There may be a midfield reshuffle on the cards though with Tom Lawrence one who could potentially be rested given his recent injury issues.
