“Total failure”: Nottingham Forest transfer is being questioned, especially the amounts paid
Giovanni Reyna’s loan move to Nottingham Forest in January is being questioned, with it so far, a ‘complete failure’.
That’s according to Netsp0rt, who say the Borussia Dortmund midfielder has endured a ‘nightmare start’ to life on loan in the Premier League.
They explain that the plan with Borussia Dortmund was to loan him to Nottingham Forest so that he could gain match practice and increase his market value ahead of the summer.
That hasn’t happened so far, though, and instead the loan has been a ‘complete failure’ as he’s managed just 38 minutes of actions over three games so far.
The American is yet to fully prove himself to Nuno Espirito Santo and it’s raising questions about why Nottingham Forest signed him, particularly as they are paying his €5m a year wages and a €1m loan fee as well.
The loan deal doesn’t include a purchase option as the two sides couldn’t agree on one when negotiations took place and at the moment it appears he’ll be heading back to Germany in the same situation he left at.
Dortmund are hoping his situation will change before the end of the season and he can revalue himself but at the minute, that’s not happened, and they’re not impressed.
Now, this may just be a little dramatic from Netsport and there’s plenty of time left for Reyna to turn things around and make this loan spell worthwhile. In Germany, though, they’re already questioning the point of it.
