Gonzalo Montiel, la sorpresa de Scaloni para enfrentar a Perú - La Página Millonaria

Gonzalo Montiel is the latest addition to Nottingham Forest’s expanding injury list, so Steve Cooper might be without as many as eight players when Luton Town visits the City Ground.

Despite the Reds’ current injury crisis, Cooper hopes to welcome several players back as the season progresses. After two victories in eight games, Nottingham Forest was ranked 13th in the standings going into the international break. Forest is also five points ahead of the relegation zone after three draws.

Cooper will now hope to stretch their margin by beating Luton Town as the newly-promoted Hatters visit on Saturday. The Kenilworth Road outfit have won just one of their eight games and drawn once. Yet they remain outside of the drop zone via goal difference over Burnley.

Nottingham Forest injury list ahead of facing Luton Town

Nottingham Forest have not beaten Luton Town since taking a 3-1 win in the Championship in January 2020. The Hatters won two of their following four meetings in the second tier, as well. Saturday is the two team’s first top-flight meeting since Luton Town won in April 1992.

Cooper will also hope he has enough players return from injury to secure Nottingham Forest their first top-flight win over Luton Town since back in April 1990. So, with that in mind, here is the latest news about the Reds’ current injury situation facing Cooper at the City Ground…

Nuno Tavares injury latest

Cooper expects Nottingham Forest to welcome Nuno Tavares back from his injury following the international break. The on-loan Arsenal ace missed the Reds’ past two Premier League fixtures after suffering a groin injury. He sustained the issue during his first start for Cooper.

Tavares initially tried to play on against Manchester City after suffering the blow in his third game for Nottingham Forest. But the 23-year-old’s efforts were in vain as he limped off after 39 minutes. The visit of Luton Town to the City Ground may offer the defender his next start.

Cooper said, via the Nottingham Forest club website, earlier in October: “I don’t think we’ll see Nuno until after the international break.”

Expected return: Luton Town (October 21)

Serge Aurier injury latest

Nottingham Forest was worried about Serge Aurier’s groin injury against Crystal Palace going into the October international break. Cooper is still unsure about the full-back’s availability. It’s still unclear if the 30-year-old will play against Luton Town, according to TalkSPORT.

Against the Eagles, Aurier seemed to suffer the injury in the first half, but he continued to play until halftime. Then, when Ivory Coast called up the defender for international duty, Nottingham Forest’s worries appeared to subside. However, he did not play against South Africa or Morocco.

Gonzalo Montiel injury latest

Gonzalo Montiel of Nottingham Forest appears to have suffered an injury during the international break while playing for Argentina. According to La Pagina Millonaria, the 26-year-old began to request a substitution versus Peru after just 30 minutes of play before being substituted out.

Only his second appearance for Argentina since the 2022 World Cup final in the 2026 World Cup qualification, Montiel was clearly enjoying himself. The right-back is now questionable for Nottingham Forest’s matchup with Luton Town. He was walking off in a limp, clearly in a lot of discomfort.

Reunion anticipated: Luton Town (October 21)

Wayne Hennessey’s latest injury
Due to Wayne Hennessey’s knee injury sustained against Nottingham Forest, Cooper has yet to include him in the matchday roster. However, the Wales international is now in

Wayne Hennessey injury latest

Cooper is still yet to name Wayne Hennessey in a matchday squad following the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper’s knee injury. But the Wales international is, finally, in a position to return. Robert Page gave the 36-year-old his first minutes of the term as Cymru beat Gibraltar 4-0.

Hennessey started in the friendly at the Racecourse Ground on October 11 and also enjoyed 63 minutes. He had not featured since starting in Forest’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace on the final day of last season. But Cooper welcomed Hennessey back to training in September.

Taiwo Awoniyi injury latest

Due to a groin injury sustained against Brentford, Taiwo Awoniyi will not be available for Nottingham Forest until early November. Last season, the striker suffered a similar injury that sidelined the 26-year-old for 12 games. However, unlike last season, his latest ailment is on the other leg.

Awoniyi will probably miss considerably less games due to his most recent injury. The Nigerian player, who participated in Cooper’s sessions over the international break, has already returned to the training field. Cooper also anticipates Awoniyi returning strong, much like he did in the previous term.

According to Nottinghamshire Live, Cooper emphasized, “Of course it is a blow.” “Up front, he’s been our man. For a month, he is absent. In the match against Brentford, he did it.

Nottingham Forest have been without Danilo since the start of September after he suffered a hamstring injury against Chelsea. Cooper has also clarified that the 22-year-old remains a while away from returning. But the midfielder has worked on their grass pitches in training.

“Danilo is a bit more long-term,” Cooper said, via the Nottingham Forest club, at the start of October. “It’s still going to be a little while until he’s back with the group. He’s out on the grass but very much in the middle of his rehab.”

Expected return: Unclear

Ola Aina injury latest

This September, Ola Aina was voted the Player of the Month by Nottingham Forest supporters. Cooper was therefore devastated to learn that the 26-year-old had suffered a muscle strain. Aina suffered from it at the beginning of October and has not yet recovered. It also prevented Aina from representing Nigeria in football.

After leaving Torino as a free agent, Aina joined City Ground and had an immediate impact. He appeared on either wing and got off to starts in five of their first six Premier League games. However, Cooper is still awaiting word from Nottingham Forest over Aina’s potential return.

Felipe injury latest

Because Felipe is recovering from a knee injury, Cooper has not yet featured in a Premier League game this season. Felipe is a standout for Nottingham Forest. The 34-year-old has been dealing with the problem for a while, and it also hindered his preseason. However, in September, he did play in an EFL Trophy tie.

Felipe played for 63 minutes and led Nottingham Forest’s Under-21 team against Harrogate Town. However, the Brazilian went back to their therapy area. Cooper said last month that Felipe’s daily return from his knee injury is still something Nottingham Forest has to deal with.

Cooper said at a press conference that Felipe’s knee condition is ongoing. Therefore, we’re making an effort to handle it carefully. We’re working to provide him with the best assistance we can
