Football fans have spotted Morgan Gibbs-White‘s powerful pre-match talk before Nottingham Forest beat Man United on the weekend.
In what was Nuno Espírito Santo’s second win as manager of Forest after Steve Cooper was sacked, the team certainly looked to be bonding well.
Goals from Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White cancelled out Marcus Rashford’s equaliser to lift Forest to 15th in the table.
The result piled even more pressure on Erik ten Hag, who is facing a do-or-die January to save his job.
But, to rub salt even further into the wounds at United, fans have spotted this dig Gibbs-White aimed towards the Man United players before kick-off on Saturday.
Keen-eyed observers spotted how the former Wolves star was saying: ‘Look at their faces, they don’t want to be here.’
After the 23-year-old’s efforts to invigorate the squad, the camera then cuts to a gloomy-looking Christian Eriksen.
Fans were quick to share their reaction to the video, with one person writing: ‘The stark contrast is art. Truly sad how far United have fallen.’
Another said: ‘Eriksen with the face of someone who realises it would have been better to retire than go to Utd.’
A third also added: ‘Gibbs-White saying “look at their faces, they don’t wanna be here” and then the camera cuts to Eriksen looking completely uninterested. Art.’
However, a fourth wrote: ‘Eriksen always looks like that whether we’re winning or losing,’ echoing this tweet: ‘I don’t know how you looked at Eriksen in this clip and concluded he looked uninterested.’
This week Sir Jim Ratcliffe arrived at Manchester United for the first time since Ineos took control of football operations following his £1.3billion investment.
Ratcliffe will hold meetings at Old Trafford on Tuesday after arriving at the stadium from the airport where his private jet was pictured this morning.
It’s understood the 71-year-old is in town for a few days and will meet Erik ten Hag and the players at Carrington later in the week. The squad have been given the day off but are due back in on Wednesday.
Ratcliffe’s arrival follows a visit from his Ineos sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford who met Ten Hag and staff at Carrington on Sunday, when he was given a guided tour of the complex by United’s interim chief executive Patrick Stewart and football director John Murtough.
