Manager now speaks on 19-year-old speedster about signing for Nottingham Forest
Ajax head coach John van’t Schip has confirmed that Carlos Forbs will not be heading to Nottingham Forest this month.
The boss has been speaking to the media in Holland.
So, what has the Ajax incumbent said about Forest and their interest in Forbs? Let’s take a closer look…
Carlos Forbs won’t be signing for Nottingham Forest
Well, it would seem as though this link is set to end before it’s really got going.
Forest had been keen on signing Forbs following their interest in the winger during the summer.
Now, however, Van’t Schip has seemingly dismissed any notion of the talented young winger leaving the club.
When quizzed on the Forest interest by the press in Holland, he simply said: “Carlos Forbs will not be leaving Ajax.”
Forest had been linked with a move for the versatile forward ahead of his move to Holland but missed out on his signature.
Forest back to the drawing board following setback
In our view, Forest definitely need to make sure they get themselves a winger over the line before the close of the window.
With finances tight across the Premier League, Forest may have to try and do a loan deal or one that proves cost-effective.
Forbs would have been a decent signing for Forest to make, given his vast potential and his rapid pace.
During his maiden campaign with Ajax, he’s scored twice and registered four assists, although he’s not really been a regular in the team.
Forest will now have to dive further into their list of targets and try to get something sorted before the forthcoming deadline.
Forbes now looks like a deal that won’t be happening – at least if the Ajax head coach gets his own way.
